Enviro Group Sues Trump for 200th Time

Share

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the Trump administration involved in fights with China over its mishandling and misinformation of the virus, with reporters over what he believes has been an antagonistic depiction of his administration’s handling of the virus within the United States, and now President Trump is facing more contention.

However, this battle dates back to the time of his inauguration.

In an announcement, the Center for Biological Diversity has filed a new lawsuit against the Trump administration, which brings the total number of lawsuits that they’ve filed to 200.

The most recent lawsuit was filed on Monday, and the Center for Biological Diversity filed it to fight smog pollution in California’s Imperial County.

In a message sent to the public, the group argued that they’ve “won 9 out of every 10 cases that have been resolved,” adding that they’ve “fought off some of the most egregious environmental rollbacks and secured protection for imperiled wildlife and plants in the face of unprecedented hostility to endangered species.”

In addition, they commented that they’ve “also cast daylight on the most secretive government operations we’ve ever seen using the Freedom of Information Act, and we’ve halted destructive projects like the massive Rosemont copper mine in Arizona.”

The Center went on to slam the President, saying that “the Trump administration serves corporate profits over people – so its attacks on the environment won’t stop until its last day.”

As such, they vow that “every single day until then, we’ll be battling it ferociously to protect our health and our planet.”

Environmental concerns have gained prominence in the political arena, and most recently a poll released by Climate Nexus Polling revealed that 75% of Florida voters overwhelmingly support clean energy being a central part of Florida’s recovery process. These are sentiments that other state constituents are also calling for in their own states.

Florida Army National Guardsman and Florida State Representative Anthony Sabatini (R), told The Floridian that the CBD was nothing more than a “radical left” organization that more interested in abusing the courts for their selfish political agenda.

“The abuse of the court system for political ends is nothing new for the radical left,”  said Sabatini “Although this level of court abuse may be a new low for the Never Trump fringe.”

Sabatini may not be alone as other conservative state representatives like Majority Leader Dane Eagle, Bob Rommel, and Byron Donalds have already voiced their opposition to groups like the CBD and will most likely not engage the group.
