Sen. Rick Scott : "Are we ready to reopen" Florida's economy?

This week, lawmakers have actively discussed whether or not the United States will be “opened” again amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

One state that has been engaged in the conversation is the state of Florida.

While speaking to Brian Kilmeade on Fox News Radio’s Brian Kilmeade Show, Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) discussed the potential to open up Florida’s economy during this time.

When discussing the idea of opening up Florida’s economy, the former Florida Governor expressed that “when we reopen this economy I’m sure that there’s going to be a need for more protective gear for a lot of different businesses that didn’t do it before. We’ve gotta ramp this up.”

The Florida Senator noted that “every community has got to say to themselves, ‘are we ready to reopen?’”

President Trump has signaled that he would reopen the country again, but has received significant pushback from lawmakers. As such, California Governor Newsom (D) made the announcement this week that there were plans to lift coronavirus restrictions, expressing that he has “all the confidence in the world moving forward that we will maintain that collaborative spirit in terms of the decision-making that we make here within the state of California as it relates to a road map for recovery.”

Governors from the northeast are also considering opening up their respective state economies.
