On the heels of Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) ending his historic presidential run, former Vice President Joe Biden (D) continues to propel himself to the top of the crowd after winning the South Carolina primaries. And, an important state that he needs to carry on his journey to the White House is the sunshine state.
As a result, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D) started the month of March by endorsing Vice President Biden, sharing on Twitter that “it was a very easy decision.”
She added that “we need to make sure that we put the best candidate forward.”
In the 2016 Presidential Election, Wasserman-Schultz drew controversy as the Chair of the Democratic National Committee after being accused of rigging the primaries against Democratic Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders. In turn, Hillary Clinton (D) ended up winning the nomination.
As Senator Sanders amounts support and wins in the primary caucuses, critics are now bringing up the Florida lawmaker’s past actions against the Democratic hopeful.
Speaking of Biden, Rep. Wasserman-Schultz expressed that he is the strongest candidate to defeat President Trump and turn the White House blue.
During a telephone interview with the Sun-Sentinel, she expressed that Biden is the candidate “who can not only bring the nightmare of the last four years and the Trump presidency to an end.”
As well, she explained that Florida should “make sure we elect a president who has a real track record of fighting for the values and the priorities of folks in Florida.”
