President Donald Trump delivered his much-anticipated response to the Iranian missile attack against U.S. and ally forces in Iraq. Speaking from the White House, Trump announced that “no lives were lost” because of how the military had prepared for possible attacks, and because of an early warning system that was in place.
Trump made the case for his targeted killing of Quds Force General Soleimani, saying that at his direction, the U.S. military killed “the world’s top terrorist,” adding that “Soleimani’s hands were drenched in American and Iranian blood. He should have been terminated long ago.”
The president then firmly put the blame of the Iranian sponsored terrorist attacks throughout the region on the Obama administration, saying that the $150 billion Obama returned to Iran were used to carry out terrorist attacks throughout the region.
“Iran’s hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013,” said Trump. “And they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash. Instead of saying “Thank you” to the United States, they chanted “Death to America.”
Trump continued: “In fact they chanted death to America the day the agreement was signed. Then Iran went on a terror spree funded by the money from the deal and created hell in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The missiles fired last night at us and our allies, were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration.
