Murray Challenges "Crisis in Queens" AOC

Freshman New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D), a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist, has been a political firebrand since being elected. Now, she’s been on the campaign trail with other members of “the Squad,” working to get fellow Democratic Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (D) elected as the Democratic nominee to take on President Trump in the 2020 election.

However, AOC will be facing a challenge of her own, and it comes in the form of Scherie Murray.

Murray is a businesswoman who kicked off her campaign by saying that “there is a crisis in Queens, and it’s called AOC.”

She has been critical of the freshman congresswoman, arguing that “instead of focusing on us, she’s focusing on being famous.” According to Murray, all AOC has done since being elected is “rolling back progress and authorizing the job-killing Green New Deal and killing the Amazon New York deal.”

During an interview with Fox & Friends: Weekend, Murray spoke with Lisa Boothe, saying that AOC has been a disaster to her district. With that being said, Murray hopes to turn the seat red in November.

Speaking to Boothe, Murray expressed that AOC is “trying to deliver socialism to America. And, she is trying to recruit radicals to do so.”

Furthermore, Murray asserted that “we are in this fight to combat what we see as a far-left socialist narrative that’s detrimental to America.”
