Gavin Rollins Launches Congressional Bid to Replace Yoho

With the start of the second week in 2020, Republicans are making moves to keep Florida red.

Just announced, Gavin Rollins, who is an American history teacher and Captain in the Florida National Guard along with being a conservative member of the Clay County Commission, has just announced that he will be running for Florida’s 3^rd Congressional District seat.

In a statement released to the public, Rollins commented that he’s “running for congress because the foundation of our nation is under attack from misguided socialists, career politicians, and Hollywood liberals determined to chip away at our fundamental rights.”

As well, he expressed that he’s “fought for our country’s future in a combat zone thousands of miles away and in classrooms right here at home.”

He also asserted that he will “fight alongside President Trump to protect the religious liberty, economic freedom and the right to bear arms of each and every hardworking Floridian.”

In the 2016 Presidential election, the sunshine state voted for President Trump, and the state along with its 29 electoral college votes are on Democrats’ sights.

The seat, currently held by Florida Rep. Ted Yoho (R) has long been a Republican stronghold, but Rep. Yoho will not be running for reelection, so the seat will be up for grabs.
