During the marathon House Judiciary Committee mark up debate, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) divulged to the committee, and the nation, that Reuters reporter photographer Roberts had approached dais and took pictures of notes taken by his Democratic colleagues.
Gaetz said that staff was made aware of the act, and the photographer was removed from the proceedings.
It wasn’t until hours later that the video filmed on House closed-circuit TV system was released, showing photographer Roberts colluding with another reporter/photographer as he took the pictures of the documents.
Incredibly, Speaker Nancy Pelosi defended what Reuters stated about the incident in that the reporter only took pictures of the Holy Bible and the U.S. Constitution, The Federalist Papers, and pieces of illegible paper sitting on the dais.
The Bible?
I don’t know about you, but what he pointed his camera to did not look like any Bible to me.
You be the judge.
In a statement, the Congressional Latino-Jewish Caucus denounced the decision, calling it "inflammatory and unwarranted."
