With Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan stepping down from his position, House Democrats are using his resignation as political gunpowder to use against President Trump and his administration.
House Democrats do not seem to be content with just impeaching President Trump, having set their sights on the president's inner circle of advisors, including White House senior policy advisor to the president, Stephen Miller.
Outspoken Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D), who is in complete support of impeaching Trump, is now targeting Miller for creating and imposing "immoral immigration policies."
"The exit of another DHS chief will not stop Trump’s cruel, immoral immigration policies," tweeted Wasserman Schultz "Lacking Senate-approved leaders, DHS remains vulnerable to harmful, nativist policies by the likes of Stephen Miller. Senate-confirmed, competent and humane DHS leadership is urgently needed."
House Democrats continue interviewing witnesses for Speaker Pelosi impeachment inquiry but have yet to call for a floor vote on impeachment.
In a statement, the Congressional Latino-Jewish Caucus denounced the decision, calling it "inflammatory and unwarranted."
