Trump on death of ISIS leader : “He died like a dog, he died like a coward"

After weeks of being surveilled by U.S. forces, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi died during a special operations raid on his compound in Northern Syria Saturday night.

President Donald Trump made the announcement Sunday morning from the White House, describing the terror leader's death as transpiring “in a vicious and violent way, as a coward, running and crying.”

“He died like a dog, he died like a coward,” Trump said in a speech to the nation Sunday morning.

Al-Baghdadi is said to have ran from advancing troops and detonated a suicide bomb, killing himself and three children.

“Our reach is very long,” Trump said. He pointed to the recent death of Hamza bin Laden, son of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. “These savage monsters will not escape their fate, and they will not escape the final judgment of God.”

Trump said “Baghdadi and the losers who work for him” had “no idea what they were getting into.” (Fox)

Shortly after Trump announced al-Baghdadi’s death, U.S. Army Green Beret and Rep. Michael Waltz (D) stated that the military operation was “proof that terrorists can run but they can’t hide forever.”

“Al-Baghdadi’s death is proof that terrorists can run but they can’t hide forever,” stated Waltz “Justice has been served for the families of James Foley, Kayla Mueller, Steven Sotloff and Peter Kassig, as well as thousands of others brutally killed under ISIS cruelty.”
