As House and Senate Democrats continue to be in disbelief over President Donald Trump refusing to inform them that he had ordered a U.S military raid in Syria that resulted in the death of the most sought after Islamic terrorist, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, congressional Republicans are praising the efforts of both the president and the military personnel that carried out the operation.
Democrats have refused to acknowledge President Trump’s decision to order the special forces operation, instead opting to praise the soldiers themselves, a move that is far removed from the response Republicans gave then-President Barack Obama when he ordered the military incursion that killed Osama bin-Laden.
“He died like a dog, he died like a coward,” Trump said in a speech to the nation this past Sunday morning.
Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) stated that the terrorist leaders death was great news for U.S. national security and that any enemy of the U.S. will be relentlessly pursued and neutralized.
“Baghdadi’s death is great news for the security of the US & our allies,” stated Scott “To our enemies, this is a reminder that there’s nowhere you can go, there’s nowhere you can hide. We wont stop until justice is served. Today the world is a little safer, a little kinder, a little more free.”
Sen. Marco Rubio (R) took a subtle jab at congressional Democrats, praising the overall operation, calling it a “very significant achievement which ALL Americans should take pride in & the world should be grateful for.”
Rep. Ted Deutch (D) kept with the Democratic Party narrative to congratulate U.S. troops and not Trump, tweeting, “Baghdadi led a despicable terrorist group that killed Americans, committed genocide against Yazidis, and killed many others. Enormous thanks to US commanders, special operators, and their partners who planned and executed this important operation.”
Deutch (pictured) sits on the House Judiciary Committee and has been one of the loudest voices of support for Trump's impeachment.
