It’s Wednesday and you know what that means, right?
Well, it’s “Washington Waste Wednesday” hosted by Florida Senator Rick Scott (R).
Every Wednesday Scott, along with The Heritage Foundation, puts out a short video highlighting the government waste that is going on the federal government,
This week the topic is healthcare.
Scott wants the federal government to give the states more rights or power to tackle issues like healthcare, saying that the healthcare systems in each state is different and must be addressed differently.
“So, let the states figure out what the program is for their state,” said Scott “If you give the power to the states, they can have a better focus on the quality of care, access to care, and the cost of care.”
Scott then reminded Floridians that under his watch as governor of the state that he was able to achieve this goal, reiterating that state-based solutions are the way for governors to go.
“I wanted to make sure when I was the governor that we had the best Medicaid program in the country,” said Scott.
