Pelosi on impeachment: "We are ready"

Share

As Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) is said to be “all out of options” over whether or not to impeach President Donald Trump over the recent allegation that he pressured Ukrainian President  Volodymyr Zelensky to look into vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Pelosi, who describes herself as a “left-wing San Francisco liberal,” is expected to call for a formal impeachment inquiry into the president at the end of the workday.

"Now that we have the facts, we are ready," said Pelosi

The controversy has prompted the president to announce that he would release a transcript of the entire phone conversation between him and President Zelensky.

American Conservative Union (ACU) Chairman Matt Schlapp appearing on Fox News, dismissed congressional Democrats and the whistleblower, saying that the inquiry was “repugnant,” and the whistleblower was just another “swamp creature.”

There is going to be a pushback by the American people against this Democratic Party,” said Schlapp

Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL) is now backing the call for impeaching President Trump.

The Trump 2020 campaign has also responded the expected call for impeachment and Joe Biden aka “Quid Pro Joe” and his apparent conflict in Ukraine, just as the former vice president announced that he will hold a press conference regarding impeachment.

Here is what the campaign sent out:

Joe Biden likely won’t want to take questions today, because he can’t explain why his son landed a $50,000-per-month gig with a Ukranian fossil fuel company even though he had no experience in Ukraine and no experience in the gas market.

As Biden seeks to save his nosediving campaign, here’s what you won’t hear from Quid Pro Joe:

  • An explanation for why he falsely claimedhe “never” talked to Hunter about his business deals, but Hunter says they did.

  • A House Democrat who endorsed Biden said yesterdaythat “it needs to be cleared up.”

  • An explanation for why he believes it was appropriate for Hunter to make millions of dollars in Ukraine at the same timeJoe Biden was leading diplomatic relations with Ukraine, even though it alarmed State Department officials at the time.

  • Eurasia Group President Ian Bremmer said this morning, “Biden does have a problem hereby the way. I mean, I have to say, $50,000 a month for Hunter Biden clearly to be selling influence because otherwise no one would ever pay him that kind of money, for a company that frankly was pretty corrupt.”

  • The president of progressive watchdog group Public Citizen, Robert Weissman, said in June, “At absolute minimumthere's a huge appearance of conflict, and there's every reason to think that the investors that he‘s working with want [Hunter] partnering with them because he's the son of the then-vice president and now presidential candidate. [Joe Biden] should have encouraged his son to not take these positions.”

  • Hunter’s attorney confirmed in June that he is still in businesswith the Chinese government and playing an “active role.”

  • An explanation for why he claims“everybody’s looked at it and said there’s nothing there.” Who exactly has looked at it?
