Florida Democrats target Trump, Rubio, Scott, and DeSantis

With House Democrats throttling up their impeachment of President Donald Trump over the phone call he had with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Democratic Party as a whole is hoping to capitalize on their political play in the U.S. Congress and defeat Trump in 2020.

Florida Democrats are pressing on with the anti-Trump, pro-impeachment talking points and are now targeting Republican elected officials as being shills for Trump.

The allegations against Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sens. Rick Scott and Marco Rubio don’t appear to hold much water, especially the jab taken against Rubio.

Florida’s top Democrat, Terrie Rizzo, rides the “shakedown” train and chides Rubio for doing his job as a member of the Select Intelligence Committee.

Rubio and the Select Intelligence Committee interviewed Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire behind closed doors. The committee is tight-lipped on what they will do next.

"I’m not going to tell you what the committee does or doesn’t do," said Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) "We’re going to investigate."

“When it was revealed that Donald Trump tried to shake down a foreign government to assist in his reelection campaign, what did Governor Ron DeSantis do? Set up a presidential defense fund. What did Senator Rick Scott do? He blamed Democrats. And Senator Marco Rubio can’t seem to get the facts, despite sitting on the Intelligence Committee. It is appalling watching our so-called leaders try to explain away the president’s abuse of power. Florida’s highest-ranking Republicans continue to prove that they put party over country.”

Rep. Ted Deutch (D) has made Rubio a pet project of his this past week, challenging the junior senator over the impeachment inquiry. Deutch's questioning of Rubio could be a prelude to a potential 2020 Senate match up with Rubio. Deutch is considering the run for the U.S. Senate.
