America, Florida congressmen remember 9/11

“I can hear you!” “I can hear you!. The rest of the world hears you!” And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!”

President George W. Bush's chilling and inspiring words served as a rallying cry for Americans to come together to combat radical Islamic terrorism after Al Qaeda attacked America eighteen years ago today.

Members of Florida’s congressional delegation have taken to social media to express their thoughts on the anniversary of 9/11.

“On this day 18 years ago, our nation experienced one of the deadliest terror attacks in our history. We remember the victims of 9/11, the heroic first responders and the men and women who carried the fight to terrorism and continue to do so to this day,” Rep. Michael Waltz (R)

“Today at 8:46 am Congress will observe a moment of silence for those killed in the terror attack 9/11/2001. Remember how the country came together after that day. Let’s reflect on what it means to be American & what unites us in pursuit of a more perfect union.”- Rep. Ted Deutch (D)

Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) said it was “hard to believe” that almost two decades have gone by since the 9/11 attacks.

“We must #neverforget the lives lost & bravery & courage shown by so many of that day & in the weeks, months, & years that follow,” stated Rubio.

Rep. Kathy Castor (D) also pointed to the “heroes, victims, first responders, and service members and patriots” who stood out after the attacks.
