As Elizabeth Warren surges in polls, Republicans deal the Pocahontas card

Republicans are turning their political gun sights on Sen. Elizabeth Warren, as the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate is virtually tied with former Vice President Joe Biden atop the field of candidates vying to take on President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential elections.

Biden, the frontrunner in the race and presumed Democratic presidential nominee by some, has dropped in all the latest public opinion polls, with the latest Economist/Yougov poll having Warren jumped to within 3 points of “Uncle Joe.”

These same polls have all the Democrats beating Trump in a head-to-head matchup, up it’s still early, and all of those candidates have significant baggage that Republicans are starting to unpack.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) recently tweeted a reminder that Elizabeth Warren “is NOT Native American” and that “she lied” about being a Native American “to claim minority status at a critical point in her career.

That “critical point” was when Warren stated on her 1986 Texas Bar application that she was “American Indian.

Warren previously made the statement that she was Native American but never divulged any written documents to substantiated here claim, which fueled President Trump’s “Pocahontas” attacks against.

Once the news broke that Warren actual handwrote that she was “American Indian,” Trump and Republicans took her to task, and have signaled that it would the one attack they would regurgitate at nauseum.

Warren publicly apologizes for the lie and pressed her staff to express that apology for her.

"As Senator Warren has said she is not a citizen of any tribe and only tribes determine tribal citizenship. She is sorry that she was not more mindful of this earlier in her career," said Kristen Orthman, a spokeswoman for Warren, in a statement.

Aside from the lie, which many politicos around the nation believe is the proverbial last nail in the coffin, Warren must have to defend the very left-of-center economic and social positions she has taken.
