Paul Ryan, the failed V.P. candidate & former Speaker of the House, whose record of achievement was atrocious (except during my first two years as President), ultimately became a long running lame duck failure, leaving his Party in the lurch both as a fundraiser & leader......

....When Mitt chose Paul I told people that’s the end of that Presidential run. He quit Congress because he didn’t know how to Win. They gave me standing O’s in the Great State of Wisconsin, & booed him off the stage. He promised me the Wall, & failed (happening anyway!)......

...He had the Majority & blew it away with his poor leadership and bad timing. Never knew how to go after the Dems like they go after us. Couldn’t get him out of Congress fast enough!

There are still around 200 unaccompanied children in Border Patrol custody, according to McAleenan by Telemundo

Clint (Texas) .- Acting Secretary of National Security, Kevin McAleenan, said Thursday that around 200 unaccompanied children remain in the custody of the Border Patrol, defended the conditions in detention centers and praised the impact "dramatic and immediate "Of Mexico's work to stop illegal emigration from Central America.

In an exclusive interview with Noticias Telemundo, McAleenan rejected the accusations leveled against the Border Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in general, about the mistreatment of children in detention centers.

"I checked the data a few hours ago and we had around 200 unaccompanied children in custody. The situation has improved significantly now that Congress has acted on a long-standing request to give us additional resources "to expedite the prosecution of children, explained McAleenan.

"There have been several accusations ... one is that we did not have enough toothbrushes and toothpaste for the children in the El Paso sector. We have 29,000 toothbrushes in our supplies "and children receive food three times a day and unlimited snacks, McAleenan said. Read more

ICE will launch its macro-raid this Sunday: it hopes to catch 2,000 migrants by Telemundo

Raids to deport undocumented immigrants President, Donald Trump, repeatedly threatened to launch will begin on Sunday, as reported by The New York Times . The newspaper cites as sources two current officials and an old one from the Department of National Security. Two sources from the same department have confirmed the news to NBC News .

The raids will be handled by agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE). The authorities are targeting at least 2,000 immigrants who had a deportation order but were left in an irregular situation in the US. The number could increase if the undocumented are found when they meet their families.

ICE agents will act in at least ten major cities, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and New York.

The operation will last several days, according to sources consulted by The New York Times . The possibility that undocumented migrants not previously identified are stopped during the raids is not excluded.

The aim of the authorities is to deport the migrants as soon as possible. Whenever possible, families will initially move to detention centers in Texas and Pennsylvania.

But there may not be room for everyone, so some hotels are also planned to house migrants before the expulsion process is ready.

This Wednesday, the acting director of the Citizenship and Immigration Service, Ken Cuccinelli, said the raids "will absolutely happen." And he said that in the US there are close to one million undocumented migrants.

Trump announced the mass deportations in the middle of last June, but later delayed them. Democrat Nancy Pelosi, president of the House of Representatives, had previously asked her not to start them. Read more

Ex-deputy accused of planting drugs on Florida drivers is arrested by CNN

(CNN)Florida authorities have arrested a former Jackson County deputy accused of making false arrests after planting drugs on drivers, police said in a statement.

The allegations have prompted prosecutors to drop charges in scores of cases.

Zachary Wester, 26, was taken into custody at his Crawfordville home, about 20 miles south of Tallahassee, on Wednesday, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

He is being held in Wakulla County Jail without bail, the FDLE said.

He stands charged with felony counts of racketeering, official misconduct, fabricating evidence, possession of a controlled substance and false imprisonment. He also faces misdemeanor charges of perjury, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, the FDLE said.

At least 11 people are suing Wester in federal court for alleged civil rights violations as well.

100+ cases tossed out

At the request of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Wester's former employer, the FDLE began investigating the deputy in August after bodycam video from a February 2018 arrest appeared to show Wester planting methamphetamine in Teresa Odom's pickup truck during a traffic stop, FDLE spokesman Jeremy Burns told CNN in September.

At the time, the FDLE was reviewing 254 of Wester's cases, prosecutors said.

"The investigation shows Wester routinely pulled over citizens for alleged minor traffic infractions, planted drugs inside their vehicles and arrested them on fabricated drug charges," the FDLE said in its Wednesday news release, adding that it had reviewed more than 21 hours of footage in its investigation...
