Progressives clash with moderates, Trump wins debate

Share

It was clear to everyone who tuned in to the second round of 2020 Democratic presidential debates that Sen. Elizabeth Warren aka Pocahontas, as President Trump nicknamed her, stood out above the other candidates during the CNN hosted debate in Detroit, Michigan.

Sen. Bernie Sanders held his own, retaining his far-left bona fides, as he and Warren made the case for being the most progressive-minded candidates vying for the support of their political party’s progressive base.

Warren and Sanders owned the night, but as we said, Warren came out on top, and the upcoming public opinion polls will most-likely show her getting a bump.

According to the Real Clear Politics average of polls, Warren and Sanders are neck-and-neck behind Vice President Joe Biden, who is crushing the field of candidates by double digits.

Most of the field of 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls are considered progressive, while some of the so-called liberal candidates are now considered to be “moderates” because of how far-left a turn Warren, Sanders, Kamala Harris, and the other progressives have taken.

Even Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who checks off all of the progressive boxes as well, has been labeled a “moderate” by Democratic Pollster Doug Schoen because of how progressive Warren and Sanders have gone.

Fact: Elizabeth Warren was a registered Republican up until 1996.

Warren once again proved that she knew her way around a debate stage, after all, she was a pretty good college debater while at George Washington University.

One south Florida criminal defense Attorney Alvin (Al) Entin debated then-Elizabeth (Liz) Herring and beat her on November 18, 1966, during a debate at George Washington University. Entin, who went to American University, told the Floridian that Liz Herring (Warren) was an extremely impressive and a formidable debater.

Entin still keeps his debate scorecard:

The Trump campaign’s response to the debate was simple and to the point.

National Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated,” Same radical Democrats. Same big government socialist message. Same winner of tonight’s debate: President Donald Trump.”

Democrats pundits and pollsters are starting to openly say that the more progressive the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee is, the better the chance that Trump wins reelection.
