DeSantis Ranks #10 in Top U.S. Governors

Over the weekend, a poll was released showing the top ten most popular governors in the United States. Clocking in at number 10 is Governor Ron DeSantis (R) with an approval rating of 57% against a 20% disapproval rating among state voters.

The survey also showed that the top 10 most popular governors happen to be Republican, which will likely greatly contribute to the upcoming 2020 Presidential election.

In the 2016 Presidential election, President Trump won the state of Florida and its 29 electoral college points, and Governor Ron DeSantis has remained a staunch supporter of the President since winning his Gubernatorial race in the 2018 Midterm Elections.

In addition, a poll taken after the first Democratic debate last month indicated that the President’s approval rating has gone up, going from 45% to 48%. As well, the President’s disapproval rating has gone down from 54% to 51%.

Moreover, DeSantis has a net approval of 78 percentage points when it comes to Florida Republicans and 31 points among Independent voters. Among Democrats, DeSantis has gained a net plus of 2 percentage points.

However, while DeSantis’ approval rating skyrockets him to the top, Florida Senators Marco Rubio (R) and Rick Scott (R) are finding themselves traveling up a bumpy road.

Senator Rubio ranks 48 out of 100 Senators, and he has a 46% approval rating among Florida voters against a 34% disapproval rating. Among Republicans, Rubio has plus 57 points, 5 points among Independents and he’s negative 28 among Democrats.

On the other hand, Senator Scott ranks a bit lower, ranking 51 out of 100 Senators with a 46% approval rating against a 36% disapproval rating. Among his base, Scott has plus 62 points, he has plus 2 points among Independents and he’s negative 36 points among Democrats.

As the 2020 Presidential election is underway and candidates target the sunshine state to campaign, Florida leadership will be lending its hand to ensure that Republicans hold control of the White House, so all eyes will be on Florida to see if it remains red.
