Congress joins in celebrating 4th of July

Putting politics aside for about two minutes, members of Florida’s congressional delegation stepped away from the family BBQ grill to express the thoughts about the meaning of the 4^th of July, and speak of American exceptionalism.

President Trump honored the military during his highly-anticipated Lincoln Memorial 4^th of July event, where thousands of Americans showed up to see a military ‘shock and awe’ display of force.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) expressed that Americans should “strive” for a “more perfect union,” pressed Americans to “continue the fight.”  

Rep. Brian Mast (R) all- but echoed what President Trump said about the military, saying that today was a day to “celebrate our freedom because of the brave patriots who wore the uniform with pride.”
