Allen West targets "progressive socialists" in Texas

There may be a new sheriff in town for the Texas Republican Party, as former U.S. Congressman Allen West says his probable run for the chairmanship of the Texas GOP is all but certain.

Shortly after addressing the Turning Point USA rally in Washington, D.C, this past week, former Florida Congressman Allen West told HISPOLITICA during a phone interview that his campaign for chairman of the state GOP was about “80 percent go” and that his campaign was “criteria-based,” adding that he is making sure that “when we do launch, all the systems are there for people to engage.”

West’s reason for running is simple. West wants to push back against what he calls the “progressive socialist Left that is controlling all of the major population centers in Texas.”

“Austin looks more like San Francisco than the capitol of Texas,” said West.

West also says that the focus not only needs to be about winning back those municipal, state, and congressional seats lost during the 2018 mid-term elections, but on winning targeted city council and county commission seats, as well as judgeships and school boards seats.

But before Republicans can start “blocking and tackling” their way to winning back the state from “progressive socialists,” West believes that there needs to be “a cohesive, conservative vision” and message in place.

We asked him what he thought about the state of the Texas Democratic party, and the national party, and the former congressman said that believed that the Democratic Party, as a whole, was conflicted with itself.

“I think that they are really in a dilemma right now. There are folks that are conservative “Blue Dog Democrats” and they don’t have a home,” said West “When you look at Henry Cuellar (US Congressman), who is a Democrat, a “Blue Dog Democrat” and you have the Ocasio-Cortez types that are attacking him and “trying to get him gone.”

The Squad

“We don’t need any more  brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice, we don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice.” Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D)

After reading him Rep. Pressley’s “black faces” remark, West asserted that that mindset was “disastrous for the minority communities” across the country.

“That’s one of those things that unless you are towing their line, which is disastrous for the minority communities especially if they don’t’ consider you to be black enough, or brown-Hispanic enough, or what have you,” said West.

“If I stand up and speak out about better education opportunities, restoring families in the black communities, if I speak out about what Planned Parenthood has done in their genocide against the black community with almost 20 million babies that have been murdered in the womb, I guess that is what Ayanna Pressley and other members of that little squad thinks that I am, that I should be disparaged.” Fmr. Rep. Allen West

Racism

“The sad thing is that everyone is throwing around the word racist, it has no meaning now,” quipped West “What it’s come to mean is that if you don’t agree with the ideological agenda of the Left, disagree with someone like these four young freshman females that they are going to call you a racist, just the same way they called Nancy Pelosi that. So, the word has no meaning.”

In May 2020, Republicans from around the state of Texas will descend upon Houston for their annual meeting, and will be tasked to re-elected their current leadership, or vote in Allen West and his conservative vision for Texas, America.
