Trump Slams Mayor Sadiq Khan in U.K. Visit

Share

President Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom has been a talking point in recent weeks because Queen Elizabeth will be hosting both the President and First Lady Melania Trump in a rare state visit.

Upon arrival, the President wasted no time in responding to controversial London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who said that President Trump should not be honored with a state visit.

In response, President Trump said that “Sadiq Khan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly ‘nasty’ to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom.”

President Trump then slammed Khan as “a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me.”

Khan called President Trump a “global threat,” but the President responded by saying that Khan is “the twin of de Blasio, except shorter.”

Ahead of the visit, the President faced some criticism over comments made about Meghan Markle.

During an appearance on “the Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, before the 2016 Presidential election, Markle called President Trump misogynistic, she said that his politics are divisive and that she would move to Canada should he be elected President.

In an interview with the Sun, President Trump responded to Markles’ comments, saying that he “didn’t know that she was nasty.”

The President also said that he hoped “she is ok.”

Last June, the President and the First Lady met with the Queen at Windsor Castle in a more informal meeting over tea.

After the meeting, President Trump said that all he could think about was his mother.

Speaking to Piers Morgan, President Trump explained that his “mother passed away a while ago and she was a tremendous fan of the Queen.”

He added that his mother though the Queen “was a woman of elegance, and my mother thought she was a great woman.”

Trump recalled that “even as a little guy, if there was any kind of a ceremony to do with the Queen, my mother would be watching the television.”

There’s no telling what will come out of this meeting, but the President has definitely made his presence known.
