THE FIRST DEBATE

The first 2020 Democratic presidential debate took place in Miami on Wednesday, and as expected, it was as boring as a debate can get.

President Trump seemed to thinks so, tweeting a very subtle "Boring!"

Outside of the audio malfunction NBC and MSNBC had in the middle of the show, which forced them to take a 'TV Timeout,' there were only a few other moments in the night that stood out.

The funniest moment was when Sen. Cory Booker decided they he would take a stab at speaking Espanol.

It was a cringeworthy event.

Booker's "Spanish" sounded more like Mandarin Chinese. 'Beto' O'Rourke seemed a lot more versed in Spanish, as did Julian Castro. You expected Castro would, considering that he is Hispanic.

Castro, who says he can beat Trump, has been working hard at his Spanish, and managed to land the first and most significant blow to another candidate, when he directly suggested to O'Rourke ..."If you did your homework on this..."

Elizabeth Warren stood out, as expected. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio tried his Donald Trump impersonation by channelling the vintage 2016 Trump debate performances.

All of the candidates did their fair share of dodging questions.

Quote of the night:

"All foam and no beer." -Sen. Amy Klobuchar

ABORTION

They all support it. Castro even went as far to say that he supports it for transgender individuals.

In the first of two 2020 Democratic presidential campaign, all (10) of the candidates on the stage in Miami, Florida support legalized abortion.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is currently surging in the latest public opinion polls and is in second place behind former Vice President Joe Biden, asserted that woman have the right to choose and that Roe vs. Wade needed to be made law.

THE OTHER CANDIDATES

VP Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, and the others, will face off Thursday night in Miami. Hopefully it will be a little more lively event, and not another snorefest.

"Ocasio-Cortez against sending beds to child detention centers" by HISPOLITICA

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sounds like she wants it both ways on the issue of illegal immigrant detention facilities. So do you want the beds or not?

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) stated the obvious about the overall debate performance. >>> "No person on that stage is interesting enough to defeat@realDonaldTrump. Not even close."

Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D) is sending Pride month off, giving it one last hooray by acknowledging the Supreme Court decision to allow the LGBTQ community to marry.

Rep. Brian Mast (R) clowned the presidential candidates before they got on the stage. Mast put up a "Who's the most socialist?" Democratic debate bingo card.

Rep. Ted Deutch (D) is not all too happy with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for allegedly "rejecting funding for food, water, sanitary items, medicine, & blankets for children..." Meanwhile, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez wants to keep beds from being made and sent to those very same needed children at the border.

Let's keep this very simple. Gov. Ron DeSantis is signing bills at a feverish pace.

Oscar and Valeria drowned in the river between Mexico & Texas. They were driven to cross the river out of desperation – only after they tried to legally seek asylum.

They should be safe in the US. Instead, they are dead because of Trump’s cruel policies.

One image and a thousand words: the photo of the father and the drowned girl seeking asylum in the US shakes the immigration debate by Univision

Óscar Martínez and his daughter could have been one more statistic: that of the tens of thousands of migrants waiting to request asylum on both sides of the US border. But the waters of the Rio Grande crossed their path and the image of the dead bodies of the father and the girl embraced at the gates of Texas became a symbol of the crisis on the border. This is the reality behind the photo that has been around the world.

85 Arrested in Human Trafficking Sting in Florida by Time

TAMPA, Fla. — Authorities in Florida say they have arrested 85 people in a monthslong human trafficking sting.

“Operation Trade Secrets” began at the outset of the year, focusing on hotels, motels, spas, massage parlors, strip clubs, adult bookstores and other activities, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister announced Monday during a news conference. The sting targeted men trying to pay for sex with undercover deputies, but about half of the people arrested were women offering to commit prostitution.

“The only way to get proof of victims of human trafficking is to do an operation like this,” Chronister said. “You don’t know who’s there on their own free will . and who’s being forced to have sex. It’s probably one of the biggest challenges of interviewing these individuals.”

The latest Economist/Yougov poll still has Biden up, but by only 6 points over Elizabeth Warren, not Bernie Sanders. Sanders is now in third as Warren continues to surge.

Warren should continue to rise after he debate performance Tuesday in Miami
