New Poll Shows Voters Disagree on Impeaching Trump

The submission of the Mueller Report was expected to damage the Trump administration, but the Special Counsel reported that they would not be seeking any further indictments, and they reported that the Trump administration had not colluded with Russia in order to win the 2016 Presidential election.

In response, Democrats shifted their attention to Robert Mueller, saying that he should testify before Congress. In turn, the Mueller Report became even more controversial after it was all said and done.

Robert Mueller then directly addressed the American people, asserting that he would not testify in front of Congress and that charging President Trump was not an option at the conclusion of the investigation.

To this, Democrats have still made calls for President Trump to be impeached.

However, a recent Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey indicates that voters may not agree with the Democrats’ call for impeachment proceedings to begin against the President.

1,295 registered voters were polled, but only 37% agreed with impeachment and removing President Trump from office.

43% of those polled favored “no action,” and 60% of Democrats polled agreed with impeaching the President and removing him from office.

When it comes to Independent voters, there’s a different story.

The poll showed that “thirty-seven percent support impeaching and removing the President. Sixty-percent of polled Democrats say the President should be impeached and removed, but only 36 percent of Independents are in favor.” Also, “twenty percent of voters say Trump should be censured by Congress.”

In response to Democrats pushing for President Trump to be impeached, Wisconsin rep. Sean Duffy (R) noted that this continued push could not only come back to bite Democrats in the Presidential election but it could also lead to Republicans taking back control of the House.

In an interview with Fox Business’ Trish Regan, Duffy warned Democrats that “Americans want you to fight for them. Americans don’t want you to fight Donald Trump.”

And, how can Democrats best work with the President?

Governor Mike Huckabee (R) argues that Democrats can best help by assisting with answering the needs at the border.

“Work with the President. Build the wall,” says the former Governor of Arkansas.

“Put the resources necessary at the border, and we can stop this,” Huckabee stressed.
