Combat veteran Michael Bluemling, Jr challenges Lois Frankel

Share

With the new progressive wing of the Democratic Party in the U.S. Congress stealing all the news headlines sign being sworn into office, some of the more liberal members of the Democratic House Caucus are feeling pressure to join the new movement.

Florida Congresswoman Lois Frankel (D), who is part of the Speaker Pelosi majority faction in the House, has opposed the Iran Nuclear Deal, supports abortion, and has been a staunch proponent of investigating President Donald Trump.

Frankel ran unopposed in the 2018 mid-term elections, but that will not be the case in the 2020 presidential contest, as (3) Republican congressional candidates have already announced their intentions to challenge the veteran lawmaker.

The latest entry in the sweepstakes for Florida’s 21st congressional race is Michael Bluemling, Jr., an author and decorated combat veteran who served in the Kosovo conflict and in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Bluemling, Jr, who recently attended the “Operation Homecoming” Honor Flight greeting of 78 veterans this past weekend at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, has formally announced his intention to run for congress, and will be holding a fundraising/kick-off rally at the famed Colony Hotel on Palm Beach island.

Before he can face-off with Rep. Frankel, the self-styled “true constitutional conservative” Bluemling, Jr will have to defeat Republicans Victor Garcia da Rosa and Christian Acosta.

The name of the political game will always be fundraising, and all three Republicans start off their respective campaigns in a $900K disadvantage against Frankel.
