Rubio says House will pass disaster relief bill next week

Share

The historic disaster relief legislation that Senate Democrats first blocked, then refused to address, and that the House of Representatives is supporting, has once again been delayed.

Democrats are saying that the “GOP” is blocking the legislation, but in reality, the responsible parties for blocking the bill are (3) Republican legislators, not the entire political party.

Senator Marco Rubio (R) addressed the Democratic assertion that Republicans were to blame, reaffirming that it was the three House Republicans that stalled the bill.

“Disaster aid isnt (sic) being blocked by the GOP. It has been blocked from passing by unanimous consent by three individual members of congress,” said Rubio “It will be voted on early next week in the full House & it will pass.”

Thanks to those Republicans, the $19.1 billion disaster relief package has been delayed by a couple weeks. But the two-week delay does not compare to the 2-month delay Senate Democrats caused when the voted down the measure.

President Donald Trump is expected to sign the bill once it hits his desk next week.
