Washington,D.C.-With out-of-control inflation ravaging the its economy and leaving the Venezuelan people at the point of starvation, 80 percent of the population now want the “illegitimate” Dictator Nicolas Maduro to quit as president.
80 percent.
President Trump has said that “all options,” including military intervention, were on the table, leaving many Venezuelan activists and Americans to believe that sending in the US military to liberate Venezuela will be the only option in removing Maduro.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) doesn’t think Trump should send in the cavalry just yet, saying that the “US has the right to us it’s military force anytime” the country’s national security is threatened, but it hasn’t come to that in Venezuela, yet.
When we asked Rubio if he supported the military option if all else failed, if all negotiations failed, Rubio responded by saying that the U.S. had the right to “take action” against all threats to Americans.
“Now, if U.S. personal become endangered, or anything of that nature, the US has the right to provide for their security and to take action against those who try to harm them or did harm them.”
But with that said, Rubio still contends that this issue is one that the Venezuelan people must find a solution for themselves.
“This is not a U.S. issue. This is not a Colombian issue. This is a Venezuelan issue,” said Rubio.
“This issue belongs to the Venezuelan people. They’ve taken ownership of it, they are the ones that are in the streets, they are the ones that are running the risk of being jailed, killed, tortured and brutalized. Our job is to support the in the best way possible, and what they’ve asked for is humanitarian aid and international recognition, and access to the revenue and funding sources of the illegitimate government.”
