Is America ready for an Allen West run for congress?

It’s been 7 years since former Congressman Allen West, who is happy working for non-profits and has his hand in other business ventures, lost his seat to Democrat Patrick Murphy, and talk of him jumping back into the political fray still swirl around in most political circles.

Republican and Democratic smarty-pants, who believe their word is the last when it comes to politics, will swear that West lost because he was “too conservative” or “too controversial.”

The fact is, West barely lost his race against Murphy in a district that tends to lean Middle-Right.

Even with all his alleged “bombastic” rhetoric, West still fell short, but not because of the redistricting fix that was in against him, right? (Sarcasm)

After his congressional seat was redrawn to heavily favor Democrats, while all other seats around the state of Florida looked to either stay the same or change slightly, West’s went from a Republican-leaning/toss-up seat, to swinging hard left.

Republican legislators in Florida devised the cheating.

Well, that was then, this is now.

Speculation that Allen West, who has moved to Dallas, Texas, is considering another run for congress, continues to grow.

In the past West has been asked if he would run for an open, safe Republican held congressional district in the Lone Star State.

West has always said that God would show a path, if that path to D.C. were to present itself.

We reached out to West, who told HISPOLITICA that he was currently in Jackson, Mississippi to address that state’s legislature.

Hmmm? A former congressman who loved being in the U.S. Congress is addressing a Republican-led state governing body? Very curious.

We asked him if he would consider another congressional run in TX against someone like ex-NFL player, Rep. Colin Allred (D), who defeated long-time Republican Congressman Pete Sessions (S) in the 2018 mid-term election.

West responded with his usual biblical response.

“As far as your on the record question, read Proverbs 3:5-6. Thanks,” said West.

So, we did as he said. We looked up Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

In other words, West is saying that whatever path he takes, private sector or public service, that God will guide him, show him the light.

In other words, and in other non-biblical terms, West is testing the waters for another congressional run.

Why not?

1-He has massive national name recognition.

2-He can raise big money.

3-He can, and has energized the Republican base

4-He is the political boogeyman to the Democrats.

Talk about someone making skin of the Democratic Party crawl, West is the guy.

So, if he runs, is Texas ready for him? Is the America ready for him, again?

The answer to those questions could be answered later this year, or in early 2020.
