Roger Stone arrested in Fort Lauderdale on federal charges

The Mueller investigation into potential Russian collusion and President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign has snagged another one of the president’s loyalists—Roger Stone.

Stone, is longtime friend and confidant to Trump, was arrested Friday by the FBI and indicted on seven federal criminal counts that include witness tampering and obstruction.

The longtime Republican political operative has stated that he will never testify against the president.

Officials say Stone “obstructed” and misled the House Intelligence Committee about his communications with Wikileaks.

Stone was brought to the Federal Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale by the FBI at around 9:20am, where he will be arraigned at 11 am.

Along with Trump, Stone has embraced the media, but has also taken on the supposed “Fake news” media outlets like CNN, who they assert pushes fabricated or exaggerated stories to marginalize the president.

Stone’s most recent text message to this reporter about CNN was,” Wolfe Blitzer is a flaming a**hole,” after the CNN anchor ran one of many exposes of Stone painting him as a ‘bogeyman’ of sorts.
