Democrats dodged "repeal and replace" Obamacare threat

Share

Even after numerous attempts by House Republicans to to “repeal and replace” the controversial and now seemingly ‘unaffordable’ healthcare law, Obamacare is still up and running.

Republicans could gut some key provisions in the law, but were not able to seize the golden opportunity of outright squashing the law during President Trump’s first two years in office.

Democratic lawmakers have always stood by their admitted flawed law, asking for a bipartisan “fix” and not a replacement.

Now that Democrats will take control of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2019, the “repeal and replace” Obamacare option is dead on arrival.

Even if Republicans try once again to pass a law to completely scrap the law, the Democratic majority in the House will vote down the measure.

Florida Democrats Reps. Lois Frankel and Ted Deutch are pushing their supporters and followers to visit the healthcare.gov website and sign up for Obamacare before the Dec.15 deadline.

If Republicans have any hopes of continuing to chip away at the healthcare law, they will have to wait to see if Republicans can regain control of the House, and if Trump can win re-election.
