In the final push to get voters to the polls , Florida’s gubernatorial nominees were out pressing as much flesh as possible in the final weekend before the midterm elections.
Republican Ron DeSantis rallied with Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and Rudy Giuliani in Boca Raton, while his Democratic opponent, Andrew Gillum, attended the “Souls to the Polls” voter push in Miami-Dade County with MSNBC’s Rev. Al Sharpton.
Sharpton posted pictures of his day with Gillum in his efforts to rally the black voter base.
This gubernatorial race has been one of the most contentious in the country this election cycle, as the politics of race has been placed since day one.
National Democrats are hoping to elect Florida’s first black governor.
Gillum continues to push the narrative that DeSantis’ camp is filled with racists, while DeSantis and his surrogates assert that Gillum is playing the race card in the final weeks before election day.
The latest polls have Gillum up by a few points.
The latest Quinnipiac poll has Gillum leading DeSantis by 7-points.
