Rick Scott Calls Nelson "Completely Confused" (Video)

Share

The 2018 mid-term elections are less than a week away, and the U.S. Senate race between Senator Bill Nelson (D) and Florida Governor Rick Scott is all tied up.

Public opinion polls have Nelson up by one or two points, but Scott’s internal polls show Nelson down to Scott by as many as 6 points.

Both Nelson and Scott have been campaigning aggressively, but last week’s Rwanda genocide gaffe by Nelson could sway the approximate 8 percent of Floridians who are still undecided in this race.

As we mentioned before, “Nelson may very well have sunk his campaign” when he equated the climate of U.S. politics with the Rwandan genocide that claimed the life of some 1 million people—the worst genocide in human history.

“When a place gets so tribal that the two tribes won’t have anything to do with each other … that jealousy turns into hate…And we saw what happened to the Hutus and the Tutsis in Rwanda, it turned into a genocide. A million-people hacked to death within a few months. And we have got to watch what’s happening here.”-Sen. Bill Nelson (D)

Now Rick Scott has commented on Nelson’s questionable comparison, calling the senior senator “completely confused.”

“He’s completely confused.”

Flanked by Agriculture Commissioner Nominee Rep. Matt Caldwell and FL CFO Jimmy Patronis, Scott could not contain himself when asked to respond to Nelson’s remark.

Scott responded by telling the story of how first responders came together to help Americans affected by Hurricane Michael. Scott said that he wants to bring people together, the divide them.

Earlier in the day, Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis (R) was with Senator Marco Rubio (R), referring to him as the “future senior senator from Florida.”
