VP Joe Biden Rallies Support for Gillum and Nelson

Vice President Joe Biden has gone to bat for Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and Senator Bill Nelson as they’re both polling high in their respective races.

Calling the upcoming midterm elections important because of “reclaiming America’s soul, for real,” the former Vice President shared the stage with both candidates and spoke to a fired-up crowd that kept shouting “2020,” urging him to run for the Presidency in the next presidential election.

Biden called Gillum “the coolest man on Planet Earth,” and he told the crowd that “This election is bigger than politics.”

The rally was held at the University of South Florida gym, and in a 30-minute speech, Biden slammed President Donald Trump, arguing that “This is all about a president who’s trying to amass power so he can abuse power.”

He added that “We’re in a battle for the soul of American,” and he cited the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville as an indicator of why this upcoming election is so important.

Biden explained, “It’s not just happening in Charlottesville. Calling certain immigrants animals. … The reason you have a problem is because of that black guy, that black woman. It’s the tool that’s been used by charlatans throughout history. Find a scapegoat in order to widen the area for you to be able to step in and assume power.”

Speaking of Nelson, Vice President Biden commented that he’s “never met anyone with more character, courage and decency than Bill Nelson.”

And, the Vice President called for voters to “reset the moral compass” by voting, warning that “our children are listening, and our silence is complicit. It’s about dreaming again. It’s about possibilities… Let’s take it back.”

Gillum and Nelson also spoke, assuring what their plans are if they should win their respective races.

Former President Barack Obama has also entered the campaigning cycle.
