2018 is no different from past election years.
After Hurricane Maria barreled through Puerto Rico, media outlets began reporting that over 200,000 displaced Puerto Ricans had come to the mainland U.S.
That number has been been debunked.
According to an Associated Press account, a recent survey conducted by the University of Florida’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research department has the real number island settlers between 30,000 and 50,000, a far cry from 200,000+ the media has reported.
These real numbers should make a huge difference on election day.
