As she took the stage at a gun violence awareness town hall meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) was greeted with cheers and jeers from attendees.
Wasserman Schultz, a seasoned veteran when it comes to protests and hecklers, was ready for the barrage of outbursts she endured, and the disruption she helped stoke with her position against the NRA.
Wasserman Schultz did not mince her words when she directly blamed the NRA for the Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School shooting.
The NRA has stood in the way of every single bill, every single ordinance, every single law that would have saved these 17 lives,” said Wasserman Schultz, adding, that the group has single-handedly stood in the way of saving lives.”
