The Parkland shooting took the life of 17 students. As a result, it's ignited a nationwide conversation about gun control and how politicians should act in order to ensure that future shootings don't take place.
President Trump has been vocal about his views regarding gun control and the measures that should be taken in order to keep students and society safe, and now he's taken a person step by writing a letter to Meadow Pollack's family. Her life was sadly taken in the shooting.
Her brother, Hunter Pollack, shared the letter on twitter, and he thanked President Trump for allowing the White House to be open for the family.
Hunter Pollack was not allowed to speak during the weekend's March for Lives event. He had submitted a transcript of his proposed speech, had not been replied to for hours and then was told there was no space for him to speak at the event. As a result, he commented that it was because his views on the matter did not align with their agenda. In a statement, he explained that "they don't really care about the victims' families. I don't know what this is about but it's definitely not about mourning individuals."
Still, in Hunter's response to the President's letter, he thanked President Trump for highlighting his "sisters beauty".
