Is President Trump backtracking on gun control?

Florida’s recent gun control law where the legal age to purchase a weapon has been increased from 18 to 21 is not the only bill of its kind being considered by other state legislatures.

The law Florida Gov. Scott signed into law was quickly challenged by the NRA in federal court, who filed a lawsuit contending that the law infringed on the 2^nd Amendment to the Constitution.

President Trump, who signaled that he supported the move to increase the gun purchase age to 21, stated that states were already making the decision that was received well politically.

Because Trump stated that there wasn’t much political support for the measure, some take that comment as him balking on pushing the issue forward.

White House Press Secretary clarified the president’s words:

 “Right now the president’s primary focus is on pushing through things that we know have broad bipartisan support or things that we can do from an administrative perspective that we can do immediately, but we haven’t let go of some of those other things that we’re going to continue to review and look at.”

Sanders also said that supports raising the age limit at all levels of government, but could not do it alone.
