Florida Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran (R) is expected to run into the Republican gubernatorial primary sweepstakes anytime now, but no one knows when.
Before Corcoran could announce a gubernatorial bid, the father of six had to wait for the 2018 legislative session and Gov Scott to sign the budget before any moves could be made.
Now that the budget has been signed, Corcoran is expected to announce his gubernatorial run in mid-April.
An April announcement would just be a formality considering that Corcoran and his Watchdog PAC all-but rolled out the campaign months ago.
Just look at Corcoran’s social media postings.
Corcoran has been pushing his legislative accomplishments and praising Gov Scott and President Trump for theirs, signaling to onlookers that his run for governor was imminent.
If (when) he gets in the race, Corcoran will join Rep. Ron DeSantis and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in what will surely be a GOP “Rumble in the Swamp” primary contest.
This race should be fun to watch.
